What matters most? What are you really looking for in your career? What actually makes a difference to you being happy at work? As a career coach, these questions are totally fascinating to me because they are central to most concerns of my clients. and once addressed have the power to set people on a satisfying course for their future.
They are not necessarily easy questions to answer however, and so with my friend and colleague Louisa Scagliotti, we have decided to develop a a simple self-reflection tool that makes it easier for people to assess their current work situations; plan for the future; find the right job opportunities for them; and decide what direction to take their career in. This tool is called the Career Values Card Sort – a freely-accessible on-line career values card sort activity, for anyone to use and apply to their careers at any time.
Launch date for the tool is within the next couple of weeks, so please stay posted for updates.
In the meantime, take a few minutes to ponder the following questions – maybe in a quiet moment over the weekend or with a friend or colleague. They have the power to improve the course of your career.
What matters most?
What are you really looking for in your career?
What actually makes a difference to you being happy at work?
Have a great weekend everyone!
