It always amazes me just how valuable an inspiring quote can be. Quotes have the power to change a mindset, bring a fresh perspective, encourage a positive outlook, remind us of what’s really important, provide a reality check and touch the deepest part of our souls. And all in a few short words!
There is no more important time for inspiration, and the action it can invoke, as times when so many people are at risk in their careers – from young people struggling to find that all-important experience to kick-start their careers; to the thousands facing job losses around the country and others who feel trapped in jobs they don’t like.
In previous posts and in my career tip sheets you will find advice and ideas about the action you can take to find a job; to begin doing what you really want to do; and to create a vision for your future.
For a career to be successful, a combination of inspiration, imagination, ideas, strategy, planning, smart job search and perseverance are all important. So today, I thought I would share a little inspiration through four career quotes that I really like:
Vision without action is a daydream. Action without vision is a nightmare.
– Japanese Proverb
Quality questions create a quality life. Successful people ask better questions, and as a result, they get better answers.
– Anthony Robbins
Chase your passion, not your pension
– Denis Waitley
I couldn’t wait for success… so I went ahead without it.
– Jonathan Winters

“Impossible is nothing”, attributed to Muhammad Ali, is a favourite of mine.
“Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they’ve been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It’s an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It’s a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”
